Makeup Haul

Hello :)

I had a few vouchers for Boots and as the makeup was 3 for 2, I thought it was a perfect excuse to tick a few items off my wishlist. ( Although it ended up being more then a few)

Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Black Cherry - £7.49
I have been lusting after this lipstick for so long now. I'm so happy I finally have it in my collection. This is a gorgeous deep burgundy/oxblood shade, perfect for autumn/winter. The texture seems really creamy and moisturising. I can't wait to wear this with my winter woolies. I also really like the simple black and gold packaging.

Collection Gothic Glam Lipstick in Scorned - £2.99
Another autumn/winter shade, this is more of a deep, dark purple colour. It also has a creamy texture and is highly pigmented. I can see this being my go to colour when I'm having a bit of a rock chic day.

No7 Instant Radiance Highlighter - £9.95
When I saw this it immediately went in my basket, as I love everything in cute little stick form. It's a gorgeous champagne colour and is incredibly creamy without being greasy at all. It has just the right amount of shimmer without being too over the top.

No7 Blush Tint Stick in Rosebud - £9.00
When I first saw this cream blush I thought it would be way too dark for my pale skin but, when I swatched this, all I could picture was Snow White. I think this deep rose shade will look amazing with a dark red lip. It glides on nice and smoothly and is great for applying on the go.

Rimmel Scandal Eyes Waterproof Kohl Liner in Taupe - £3.99
As I've been favouring bold lips recently I've been leaving my eyes quite natural so I thought this would be great for adding a bit of definition whilst keeping all the attention on my lips. It's also really easy to blend and stays put all day.

Maybelline Eye Studio Master Shape Brow Pencil in Dark Blonde - £2.99
This is about my fifth repurchase, it's my absolute favourite brow product. It matches the colour of my brows perfectly and the pencil is very soft and creamy, which I find great to blend to give a really natural look. It also comes with a handy spooly.

Bourjois Java Rice Loose Powder - £9.99
A pink hued shimmery powder that you can use just as a highlight or all over to brighten your complexion with a soft glowy finish. It has a twist click opening so it only dispenses powder when you want it to. The packaging is so cute and vintage to celebrate their 150th birthday.

L'Oreal Paris False Lash Flutter Mascara in Midnight Black - £10.99
I was in need of a new mascara but didn't know where to start. There's so many mascara's on the market I'm often overwhelmed when trying to choose one. When I saw a Butterfly inspired mascara, I knew it was the one for me. I chose the colour Midnight Black as I like my lashes to be quite dark and intense.

L'Oreal Paris Lumi Magique Primer - £9.99
I've never used a primer before as I very rarely wear foundation but, I thought I'd try some under my powder to see if it gives me a better finish. I didn't really know what to look for in a primer so I went on looks. This offering from L'Oreal looked so pretty I thought it was as good a reason as any to pop it in my basket.

Rimmel Wake Me Up Radiance Shimmer Touch in Radiance Rose - RRP £4.99. Poundland - £1.00
I've been eyeing this up for a while. It's a muted, dusky pink colour with a lightweight mousse formula which leaves you with a touch of colour and a radiant glow.

Rimmel London Moisture Renew Lipstick in Sloane's Plum - RRP £6.49. Poundland - £1.00
I've heard a lot about these lipsticks so when I saw them in Poundland I grabbed one. They only had the one shade but, it looked like a lovely burgundy/purple colour. It's quite sheer but can be built up for a deeper colour, it also feels really moisturising on my lips.

It's definitely worth a rummage through the makeup at Poundland as you can often get a bargain, just like I did with my Rimmel treats.

Hula Hooping

Hello :)

Photo From Google Images

I've been trying to get myself fit and healthy again after a bit of summer indulging, and one of my favourite exercises is hula hooping! It's so easy to do and really fun so it doesn't feel as much of a chore as other exercises can do. You only need to do it for ten minutes a day to see big results, so it's great if you're not keen on the gym and prefer to exercise at home like me. I got my hula hoop from Amazon, they have different sizes depending on your height. I got this small one as I'm slightly on the short side.

It does take a little bit of practice but with time you can hula without even thinking about it and I often do a little session whilst watching Corrie. Weighted hula hoops are best for exercising as it offers resistance for your muscles when using them.  It can also help improve your coordination, and as hula hooping requires a large range of motion for your spine, a lot of practice can increase your flexibility and therefor help in the prevention of back injuries.

I've thoroughly been enjoying hula hooping and have definitely felt an improvement in my overall fitness. When I first started I couldn't even do a minute without it falling to the floor, but now I can do the full ten minutes in one go, so I'm definitely improving.

Boots Haul

Hello :)

I've been very restrained with my shopping recently, and when you live five minutes away from Boots, It's not easy. So as I have been so good, I thought I'd treat myself to a few little things and as the make up was on 3 for 2, I really couldn't resist.

Max Factor Wild Shadow Pot in Burnt Bark - £4.99
There are thirteen shades in the Wild Shadow Pot Collection so it took me a while to choose just one, but, eventually I decided on Burnt Bark which is a gorgeous shimmery taupe shade and I thought it would make a great everyday colour. These are highly pigmented and can be worn on their own or applied with a wet brush for a more vibrant, bold look.

Max Factor Wild Shadow Eye Pencil in 05 Caramel Rage- £5.99
I've been loving eye shadow pencils recently, they're great for when you're feeling a bit lazy and just want a quick sweep of colour over your lids. These are gel based pencils that can be used as an eyeliner or a shadow. They have a creamy texture that glides on smoothly and blends out really nicely. It applies quite sheer but can be built up for a more intense colour and has a nice amount of shimmer.

Maybelline Colour Tattoo in Metallic Pomegranate - £4.99
I have a few of these already and absolutely love them. I'd had my eye on this shade for a while and as the make up at Boots was on offer, I thought it was the perfect excuse to add it to my collection. It's a gorgeous metallic burgundy colour with a slight brown tint. The colour tattoo's apply really nicely and are highly pigmented. The best thing about these is that they really do last all day without any smudging whatsoever.

Bourjois Little Round Pot Cream Blush in 03 Rose Tender - £7.99
This is a gorgeous cream to powder blush that applies smoothly. This shade is a lovely soft pink with a pearly finish which leaves a subtle glow to your cheeks. It's the perfect shade for a casual everyday look. I also really like the packaging, they're a perfect size for travelling and there's a cute little pink gem on the side.

Maybelline Brow Sculpting mascara  in Dark Blonde - £4.99
I've finally found a colour that matches my eyebrows! I've tried everything, powders, pencils, pens, nothing ever seems to look natural on my brows, until this. It has a ball brush which is designed to contour the perfect brow. This is great for when I just want to fill in a few gaps but keep a natural brow.

Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Dark Circles Eye Cream - £12.99
This is a very hydrating cream, with a subtle orange smell. I really like Superfacialist and as I'm always on the hunt for the perfect eye cream, I can't wait to start using this.

Superfacialist Vitamin C+ Skin Renew Cleansing Oil - £10.99
The smell is amazing. It's really orangey and refreshing. It contains advanced vitamin c+ anti-ageing and skin lightening complex which aims to help protect, brighten and strengthen the skin. I'm looking forward to adding this to my skincare regime.

Bag Lady

Hello :)

From Top Left To Right
Beige Lace Tote Bag - £13.99 / Ebay
Black Tassel Fringe Bag - £6.14 / Ebay
Black Studded Tote Bag - £11.49 / Ebay

Bags are definitely my weakness. My cupboards are stuffed full of bags with smaller bags inside, but yet I still cannot stop buying them. I'm a bit of a hoarder when it comes to the contents of my bag, I like to carry everything I could possibly ever need with me on a daily basis, so it's very rare you see me with a little clutch. My recommended items on Ebay mainly consist of bags as I can easily spend hours on the internet just browsing through all the pretty bags. Here are just a few of my favourites at the moment, which I think will probably be making their way into my collection.

The Elixr Of Life

Hello :)

I've been on a bit of health kick recently, and one of the best ways to make yourself look and feel better is surprisingly easy. Just drink more water. Water is known as 'The Elixr Of Life'. In traditional chinese medicine, a sufficient supply of water is known as an energizer, which promotes health. Apparently you should drink 1.2 litres (2.5 pints) of water a day. It's been a lot easier then I thought it would be, I like to squeeze a bit of fresh lemon juice into the water to add a little taste. I've been doing this for about a month now and I've already noticed a difference. My skin is a lot clearer and brighter, my hair and nails seem healthier. I have more energy and I feel a lot more hydrated then I did when drinking just fruit juice and fizzy drinks.  There are loads of benefits to drinking more water. Here are my top five reasons to swap a glass of coke for an iced water.

1. Improves Skin Complexion
Water moisturises your skin keeping it soft, smooth, clear and hydrated. It helps the skin's circulation giving you a natural healthy glow.

2. Improved Immunity
Drinking water helps to fight against colds and flu. It prevents salts accumulating in the kidneys which forms kidney stones and maintaining a regular water intake will help prevent headaches, as the most common cause of headaches is dehydration.

3. Increased Energy
Keeping your body hydrated allows it to work at it's full capacity, keeping you focused, and helps to be more alert.

4. Promotes Weight Loss
Drinking plenty of water fills you up, therefor reduces hunger and intake of food. Dehydration makes it harder for your body to break down fat cells, so keeping hydrated by drinking water helps raise your metabolism.

5. Makes You Happy :)
Water encourages the flow of nutrients and hormones around your body, releasing endorphins that make you feel happier.

Review: Balance Me Daily Essentials Balancing Moisturiser

Hello :)

As I came to the end of my Liz Earle Moisturiser, I noticed my skin wasn't looking quite as bright as normal and my forehead was getting a little bit oily, so I decided to change up my routine a bit. I was umming and ahhing over which moisturiser to try ( Origins Ginzing and Pai Avocado & Jojoba hydrating day cream being the two that took my fancy) , when I noticed Balance Me freebies in last months Glamour Magazine. There was four different samples to choose from so I picked the Daily Essentials Balancing Moisturiser to tide me over until I made my decision.

I've been using this for a few weeks now, but after just a week my moisturiser dilemma was sorted. It has a gorgeous floral scent and is thick and creamy in texture which is perfect for me as my skin is on the dry side. It sinks in nicely and doesn't leave my skin greasy at all and it has definitely reduced the oiliness on my forehead. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and smooth. I like to use this in a morning as it makes a perfect base for applying makeup.

Balance Me is a nice natural brand, free from nasties and is full of vitamins and anti-oxidants. I'm definitely going to purchase a full size tube and will be trying out more from this brand.
